Halfway down the hill between the towns of Coonoor and Mettupalayam, Kurumba Village Resort is uniquely situated overlooking the thick jungle of the southern face of the Nilgiris mountains. The resort is built in the style reflecting that of the local Kurumba tribal people.

The food is excellent, served in a wide open sided thatched roof restaurant overlooking the jungle, and the rooms are very charmingly appointed facing the jungle – most of them with balconies to sit out on and take in the ambience. The Jacuzzi Suites are amazing – spacious, very comfortable with a lovely wide verandah to enjoy.

This is also an ideal place to stay either before or after an amazing journey on the UNESCO World Heritage Nilgiris Mountain steam engine Railway. Activities wise, the staff will show you the variety of spices grown on the property, or take you on a walk down towards the jungle. Or you can take a refreshing swim in the beautifully sited pool looking up to the mountains and jungle opposite.
